Every night at precisely five p.m., as the sun sets over the city of Meike, Niigata, Japan, the store doors of Toirando (Toy Land) close, and the real fun begins! Inside, a bustling society of soft toys springs to life, eager for nighttime adventures that begin promptly at five-thirty p.m., every evening.

Meet Haruki the beagle, the group's energetic and kind-hearted leader, along with his best friends, the wise teddy bear, Akane and the graceful Ballerina Bunny. Their routine of secret excursions and cellar parties is turned upside down by one enchanting discovery: the opening of the sleek new Sekura Neko toy shop down the street. A new friend and a daring mission ensue. Haruki and his crew quickly forge a bond with the beautiful Sakura Neko, the boss lady of the new shop. But their newfound friendship is immediately tested as something is lost!

Driven by empathy and a commitment to their new friend, Haruki realises that to recover the item, he must first instil order and insight into his own life. After seeing the new shop, it forces him to transform the cluttered Toirando shop into a haven of cleanliness and efficiency. With his home cleaned and his plan set, Haruki rallies the most adventurous soft toys for a daring, late-night search mission.
