Angus And The Wild Haggis Adventure.Angus is a 12-year-old boy who lives in Edinburgh with his mother and father and his 9-year-old sister Lizzy. Every year the family travels from their home in Edinburgh to stay on Angus' uncle Jim's farm in the Highlands of Scotland. Uncle Jim and Auntie Jeanne have a 14-year-old son - Angus' cousin and best friend; Malcolm, and his dog Bracken. Angus' summer holidays are usually filled with messing around with his cousin, fishing in the burn next to uncle Jim's cottage, eating plenty of farmhouse cooking prepared by his auntie Jeanne, climbing the fells and camping out with Malcolm.
This year we are introduced to Walter Lyle, a brash, greedy American businessman who moved to the district last year. He bought and moved into the country estate property in the neighbouring glen and built an ugly concrete industrial unit next to the manor house and began harvesting the wild heather to process it for making perfume. Heavy goods vehicles were soon coming and going from the estate, transporting chemicals to the industrial unit and shipping his essence of wild heather. Angus first encounters Lyle shouting at a young woman in the village square.

Not wanting to spoil his holiday, Malcolm and Angus are soon fishing in the burn and enjoying themselves. When they venture over Kelpie Fell and into Lyle's estate, they find things aren't quite right. When they encounter Lyle, he makes some curious comments about the "wee beasties" costing him money. When Angus asks Malcolm what creatures Lyle was referring to, Malcolm tells him about the myth and legend of the wild haggis. Angus is in disbelief, so Malcolm and him sneak out that night to see if there is any truth in the stories.

They discover that the rumours are true and that not only is Lyle systematically destroying the local wildlife, but he's also trying to rid the highland district of the creatures that thrive on the wild heather. Soon Angus is over his head and when Lyle catches him, he intends to send him the same way as the wild haggis. Unfortunately for Lyle, the two boys save the day, and the haggis, and Lyle's greedy and destructive behaviour is stopped.Angus And The Wild Haggis Adventure is an exiting, humorous story of two friends and one memorable summer together.
